03/01/2008 - Memphis, TN (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Former world No. 1 Lindsay Davenport earned her 55th career singles title, breezing past fifth-seeded Belarusian Olga Govortsova in straight sets Saturday to win the $175,000 Regions Morgan Keegan Championships & The Cellular South Cup tennis event.

The American Davenport, seeded fourth at this tournament, picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win in an hour, firing eight aces and winning 89 percent of her first-service points.

The three-time Grand Slam event champion Davenport owns two titles in 2008, with the other coming in Auckland, New Zealand at the start of the season.

The 31-year-old Davenport, who was playing this event for the first time in her career, picked up the $28,000 first-place prize.

The 19-year-old Govortsova, who appeared in her first-ever WTA Tour title bout and was facing Davenport for the first time, earned $14,650.
