Aaron Garriott scored 11 points, and Nikola Bundalo had 10 points and six rebounds for SIU-Edwardsville, which is in the transition process into becoming a Division I program.
The defending Big 10 regular season and tournament champions expanded their lead from two points to 18 with a 28-12 push in the first half. Leuer scored nine straight Wisconsin points on the run, and added a three later, scoring 12 of the 18 points, and the Badgers led 35-17 after two Joe Krabbenhoft free throws with less than four minutes remaining.
Wisconsin led 40-21 at the half, and pushed its lead north of 30 points after the intermission. The Badgers outscored the Cougars 34-15 over the first 13 minutes and change, pushing their lead to 38 points, at 74-36, with less than 6 1/2 minutes left before easing up.
